THE INTERNATIONAL DOP AND NICHE CHEESE COMPETITION
SPECIAL AWARD FOR YOGURT
THE TUTTOFOOD CHEESE AWARD is the special award that TUTTOFOOD reserves for exhibiting companies in the dairy products business.
The aim of this competition is to promote appreciation of the best European DOP and niche cheeses, increase awareness and increase their presence on the international market. TUTTOFOOD CHEESE AWARD is a show case at the service of European food business excellence and of those products that have made lasting contributions to the history of the dairy products sector.
There will be various categories in the competition, from cow’s milk to sheep’s milk cheeses, buffalo milk cheeses (fresh, hard and soft varieties) and marbled cheeses, with a special award reserved for yogurt.
A particular aspect of the event will be the jury, made up not only of cheese experts but also of vendors, end consumers, cooks and journalists, those categories that together determine the success of a food product.
The competition will be held on 11 June in a specially equipped area. Members of the jury will taste the products and complete an evaluation form. Once tasting is complete, the first three products selected from each category will be assigned the TUTTOFOODQUALITY MARK, which can be displayed on the prize-winning product’s packaging until the next edition of the competition in Spring 2011.
Prize-giving will take place during TUTTOFOOD at a special ceremony attended by leading international opinion makers.
Following the award ceremony there will be tastings of all the competing cheeses paired with a selection of wines.
